Project Summary

This project focused on validating Google Analytics 4 (GA4) event tracking using Google Tag Manager (GTM) Preview Mode. The objective was to ensure that all website events were firing correctly before publishing the container to the live website.

Using GTM’s Preview Mode, I monitored the complete user journey in real time, including page visits and ecommerce interactions. The event timeline displayed every triggered event in chronological order, allowing me to verify that tags executed at the correct time without duplication or missing triggers. This debugging process helped identify configuration issues early and ensured accurate data collection before deployment.

The preview interface also provided detailed information about event sequences, trigger conditions, and tag execution status, making it easier to troubleshoot tracking issues efficiently. By testing every major interaction before publishing, I ensured a reliable analytics implementation that supports accurate reporting in Google Analytics 4.

Project Summary

This project involved configuring and validating multiple Google Analytics 4 Event Tags inside Google Tag Manager. The goal was to ensure that important ecommerce interactions were tracked correctly throughout the customer journey.

Several GA4 Event Tags were created and tested, including Page View, View Item, Checkout, Add to Cart, and Purchase events. Each tag was linked to the appropriate trigger and configured to send accurate event data to Google Analytics 4.

Using GTM Preview Mode, I verified that every event fired successfully during user interactions. The validation process confirmed that each tag executed the expected number of times without errors, ensuring complete and reliable ecommerce tracking. This project focused on verifying Purchase Event Tracking in Google Analytics 4 using DebugView. After configuring ecommerce events through Google Tag Manager, the final step was to validate that transaction data was successfully received by GA4.

The purchase event was tested in real time using GA4 DebugView, where key ecommerce parameters such as transaction ID, purchase value, shipping cost, tax, currency, page title, and page referrer were confirmed. This verification ensured that every completed transaction contained complete and accurate information for reporting and analysis.

DebugView provided real-time visibility into incoming events, making it easy to identify missing parameters or configuration errors before moving the implementation into production. As a result, the website now benefits from accurate revenue tracking, reliable ecommerce reporting, and improved marketing attribution.
